My first poem

“Behind the smile” – by Darin

On the outside a smile conceals a pit of darkness.

Surrounded by things to mask my pain.

People assume “he has it all”.

But I’m drowning, slowly, surely the light fades to black.

Can no one feel the pain I’m in?

My Mom, my angel, I know you hear me and I hear you too.

I won’t give up, I have fight left to give!

My days aren’t over yet.

I strive, I struggle to find the peace to match my smile.
